2020 brought with it unexpected challenges for the private aviation industry – and the travel-related space, overall – while also bringing to light opportunities for growth and evolution. What is the forecast for the year ahead? Schubach Aviation Owner and CEO Kimberly Herrell pinpoints what trends to know as you consider flying private in 2021.
Increased demand
Interest in flying private for both business and leisure will continue to grow exponentially as a worry-free alternative to flying commercial. Inquiries are expected to increase as travel increases, heading into the fall and winter of 2021. In particular, Herrell foresees a significant rise in both domestic and international business travel as restrictions are lifted and in-person meetings become the norm once again.
Extended, multi-destination trips
In response to the new, remote workplace, clients will make the most of their flexibility with extended stay, international trips and multi-destination itineraries that allow them to experience what each destination has to offer.
Remote locations
Clients will continue to seek “social distance” from others, especially as in-demand travel destinations begin to welcome visitors again. Remote destinations and über-private accommodations, particularly those that allow for time spent outdoors in nature, will be highly sought after as clients look to get away. In the same vein, wellness-related travel will continue to be in demand.
Mexico & Caribbean
Mexico and the Caribbean will continue to be a big draw in 2021, as travel has remained relatively unrestricted. Clients will enjoy the comfort and familiarity as they revisit favorite destinations including Cabo San Lucas, Punta de Mita, Nassau and St. Thomas.
Personalized travel
Travel-ready clients will opt in for bespoke itineraries and one-of-a-kind experiences that allow them to get the most enjoyment out of a destination based on their personal interest without the headache and stress of research and planning, for example Schubach Aviation’s Private Access program. The collection of exclusive travel opportunities is created exclusively with the jet charter operator’s world-class partners.
Schubach Aviation’s new “Passport to Pedregal,” a partnership with Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal offers the ultimate private, luxurious getaway. The package includes private round-trip flight with Schubach Aviation into Cabo San Lucas International Airport from anywhere in the US for groups of four to eight people, a seven-night stay in the two-bedroom oceanview suite featuring a private plunge pool and terrace complete with ocean views, personal concierge and butler service, and other perks.
