The Mirage, Las Vegas
The Mirage, one of the most iconic resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, first opened in 1989 and redefined the concept of a luxury destination resort. Known for its tropical theme, lush landscaping, and world-class entertainment, The Mirage continues to be a favorite getaway. On our recent visit, we were reminded why this resort has remained a Las Vegas classic for decades. From the moment we stepped into the lobby with its grand atrium and vibrant atmosphere, it felt like stepping into a different world.
Rooms & Suites at The Mirage
The Mirage offers 3,044 guest rooms, including 281 spacious suites. We stayed in one of the Strip-view rooms, and the floor-to-ceiling windows provided breathtaking views of the sparkling Las Vegas skyline at night. The room was modern, comfortable, and perfect for unwinding after a night out.
Guests can choose from:
- Standard Rooms with views of the Strip or mountains.
- Luxury Suites for more space and comfort.
- Penthouse Suites & Villas for the ultimate VIP experience.
All rooms are designed with comfort in mind, featuring plush bedding, smart TVs, and stylish bathrooms.
The Mirage Pool & Spa
One of the highlights of our stay was spending time at the tropical pool area, surrounded by waterfalls and palm trees. It’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of the desert while relaxing here. Renting a cabana made the experience even more special. For those looking for wellness, the Mirage Spa and Fitness Center offers massages and treatments that are the perfect recovery after a night on the Strip.
Dining at The Mirage
The Mirage is home to 14 restaurants ranging from fine dining to casual spots.
- At Japonais, we enjoyed one of the best sushi meals we’ve had in Vegas, where Japanese flavors met European elegance.
- For something casual, BLT Burger was a fun stop — their milkshakes and gourmet burgers were excellent after a late night out.
- Heritage Steak impressed us with perfectly cooked cuts from a wood-fired grill.
The dining options at The Mirage mean you never really need to leave the resort to enjoy incredible food.
Entertainment: The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil
Our favorite experience at The Mirage was watching The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. The combination of acrobatics, visuals, and legendary Beatles music was unforgettable. The energy of the show, paired with the creativity of the performance, made it one of the best Las Vegas shows we’ve ever attended.
Attractions: Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat
We also visited Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, and it was a surprisingly peaceful escape from the busy Strip. Watching the dolphins play in the water was mesmerizing, and walking through the Secret Garden to see the rare White Tigers was an experience that stuck with us. It’s a side of Las Vegas many people don’t expect, and it made our trip feel even more unique.
The Mirage Casino & Nightlife
The casino at The Mirage has the perfect mix of energy and excitement without being overwhelming. We enjoyed trying our luck at the slot machines and spent some time at the blackjack tables. Later, cocktails at one of the Mirage lounges were the perfect way to wind down the night.
Shopping & Events
From luxury boutiques to souvenir shops, The Mirage makes shopping easy without needing to leave the resort. We also noticed several event spaces set up for weddings and conferences, making it clear why The Mirage is a top choice for both leisure and business travelers.
Location on the Las Vegas Strip
What we loved most was the central location. From The Mirage, we easily walked to nearby landmarks like Caesars Palace, The Venetian, and Bellagio. Having so many attractions within walking distance made exploring Las Vegas effortless.
The Mirage’s Transformation into Hard Rock Las Vegas
The Mirage is currently in transition to become the Hard Rock Las Vegas, complete with a new guitar-shaped hotel tower. While we loved the classic Mirage experience, it was exciting to think about how this transformation will bring even more entertainment and luxury to the Strip in the future.

Conclusion
Our visit to The Mirage Las Vegas was the perfect balance of relaxation, entertainment, and Vegas excitement. From the unforgettable Cirque du Soleil show to relaxing poolside, and from world-class dining to family-friendly attractions, The Mirage is a resort where you can create lasting memories without ever leaving the property. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning like us, The Mirage continues to prove why it remains one of the best resorts on the Las Vegas Strip.
