The World’s Largest Cruise Ship

The Allure of the Seas is the longest and largest passenger ship ever built. Part of the Royal Caribbean International fleet, the ship is an architectural marvel, a “city at sea” 1,187 feet long with a maximum passenger capacity of 6,318 sun-soaking, fun-loving guests.

As we approached the ship at her homeport of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the first thing that amazed us was the absolute scale of the Allure. Towering over the cruise ship terminal, it is hard to imagine that something roughly as large as the Empire State building can move, much less delicately sail into ports throughout the Caribbean. The ship’s seven-night itineraries alternate between Western and Eastern Caribbean, but with so much to do onboard for every age, the destinations and excursions are truly secondary.

Once aboard, we discovered that the size of the ship actually allows it to disguise the number of passengers. You never see everyone at once as the passengers are distributed throughout the seven distinct themed neighborhoods including Central Park with its gardens and alfresco dining, the Boardwalk with Carousel and aquatic theater, the Royal Promenade with its shops and cafes, the Pool and Sports Zone with wave riders and zip lines, the Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center complete with gym and treatment rooms, the Entertainment Place with theatres and comedy club and Youth Zone with video games and activity programs.

The dining is exemplary everywhere onboard. The stunning Adagio dining room can sit 3,056 people at once and serve everyone an amazing array of dishes with a friendly service. If the desire exists to explore the fourteen dining options beyond those as part of your cruise, the ship counts on another 11 restaurants even the first floating Starbucks. The Rising Tide Bar allows patrons to enjoy their drinks as the entire bar rises three decks and back again.

The options on this ship allow you the ability to be as active and entertained or as quiet and relaxed as imaginable making this a Allure of the Seas a perfect ESCAPADITA.
